Ambassador Young
Ambassador Andrew Young has spent his life in service to some of the most important areas of public life — from the Civil Rights Movement to the United Nations, from service in Congress to civic leadership as Mayor of Atlanta.
As a trusted leader in the Civil Rights Movement, Ambassador Young worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and served with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference during a defining chapter in the struggle for justice, freedom, and equal dignity.
He later carried that commitment onto the national and global stage as a United States Congressman, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and Mayor of Atlanta — proof that human dignity and effective leadership were never separate causes for him.
That legacy lives on today through the Ambassador Andrew Young Fellows.

The Ambassador Young Fellowship was created to help raise up a new generation of leaders shaped by the values Ambassador Andrew Young has carried throughout his life: dignity, courage, service, justice, and the belief that human rights belong to all people.
Through education, leadership development, and meaningful engagement, the Fellowship helps students and emerging leaders understand the continuing importance of universal rights in today’s world. It connects history to action, legacy to responsibility, and inspiration to real-world leadership.
